Niners Week 12

The Niners can sneak back into the playoff race if they take care of business against Seattle this week, plus with the Lions and Rams in Weeks 16 and 17 during the final postseason push. With Frank Gore healthy and the defense playing well, anything is possible.

NINERS Week 11

Like the Jets, the Niners are skidding after a fast start to the season. To their credit, five of their six losses have come vs. teams at .500 or better … so they’re not losing to garbage teams, and they’ve normally stayed in the game (five of their six losses by a TD or less). They just need a little more talent on both sides of the ball. Hey, it’s a work in progress.
THIS WEEK: vs. Jaguars (6-4)

Niners Week 10

Niners Week 9

FIRST-HALF BLESSING: Well, for one thing, Mike Singletary has not dropped his pants once (we kid, haha). But true thanks go out to the NFC West, against whom the Niners are 3-0 this season.
FIRST-HALF CURSE: Come on already, is there some rule that the 49ers can’t play EVERY game vs. the NFC West? Wait, there is . . . OK, never mind. Otherwise, the 49ers are cursed with two middle-of-the-road QBs these days while they search for direction.
THIS WEEK: vs. Bears (4-4)

NINERS WEEK 8

Doing just enough to lose must be getting old to Mike Singletary, which is a shame because there is no shame in losing by four points at Indy while holding Peyton Manning’s Colts to just one offensive TD. So now, San Francisco’s record looks more dubious: 3-0 vs. NFC West, 0-4 vs. the real NFL.
This Week: vs. Titans (1-6)
