WORSE THAN RECORD: I admit I got fooled after Week 1 into thinking that the Raiders could at least shoot for .500 this season, after a near-upset in Week 1 vs. San Diego and winning ugly at Kansas City in Week 2. But Denver slapped the Raiders around in Week 3, and with JaMarcus Russell looking like he ate Ryan Leaf it’s time to get back to the blunt truth that this Raider team is headed for another 10-loss season.

RECORD IS JUST RIGHT: Damn you, Brett Favre. If he would have just stayed retired, Mike Singletary’s Niners would be 3-0 and the talk of the NFL this week. Still, this swarming defense will keep the 49ers in the playoff hunt all year long, as long as Frank Gore misses only 2-3 games with his ankle injury. If it’s any longer, then the Niners are a .500 team at best.
